Luxus presents: Angry Birds Star Wars

Brief

Rovio wanted to create an attractive and socially enabled platform to promote the upcoming Angry Birds Star Wars game. Tumblr was chosen as a platform for it’s responsive social media functionalities on all devices – as more than 75 % of the users worldwide of Rovio’s services are mobile users.

What did we do?

Leveraging the best social functions from Tumblr and pushing the UX and tech envelopes forward with custom interactive features to create a fully responsive and immersive experience. Working with an all-in agile collaboration with all stakeholders from both Luxus and Rovio to get the best results possible in the very tight timeframe of just a couple of weeks.

The results

The site was launched a month before the game release. In four weeks there were over 3,5 million unique pageviews (total 10,073,011 views). Launch of the site was in the news worldwide in October 2012.

Nowdays Tumblr is using Angry Birds Star Wars Tumblr website in their new client meetings as "an example of amazing creative execution" (Alexis Kaplan, Brand Strategist, Tumblr).
